A few days ago, Niantic replaced Giratina with the beautiful new raid boss, Cresselia. For those of you planning to take on this new Tier 5 challenge, here’s a few things you’ll need to know.
Bug, Ghost, & Dark Types
Gengar: Confusion/Shadow Ball
Mewtwo: Shadow Ball Charge Move
Weavile: Feint/Foul Play
Honchkrow: Snarl/Dark Pulse
Houndoom: Snarl/Foul Play
Scizor: Fury Cutter/X-Scissor
Pinsir: Fury Cutter/X-Scissor
Trainers Needed to Defeat:
If each player has a team of 6 Pokémon from the above list, with the designated movesets, and are level 30 or above, then Cresselia can be defeated with 4 Trainers.
If not, 5-6 players are recommended.
Best Cresselia Moveset:
Perfect CP: 1633
Perfect Weather Boosted CP: 2041
Cresselia is weather boosted in Windy weather.
How many raids will I need to participate in to capture Cresselia? 2-3 raids
Even though Cresselia isn’t the most useful of creatures in the Pokémon Go game right now, it has the potential to be much more if Niantic decides to make some changes to it (i.e. a new moveset) down the road. Until then, this lovely, lunar monster is a nice addition to the Pokédex and one that shouldn’t be missed.
Cresselia will be available until December 18th.
