After alternating between Saturday and Sunday for the Pokémon Go Community Event over the last few months, Niantic has decided that August will ring in the very first 2-day occurrence of the monthly gathering.
Here’s a look at what’s in store for those who attend.
Dates: Saturday, August, 11 & Sunday, August 12th
Time: 2pm-5pm EST each day
Featured Pokémon: Eevee
Special Move: TBD
Bonuses: 3x Catch Stardust, 3-hour lures
This will be an interesting new take on Community Day. The upside is that more players will be able to participate since they’ll have 2 choices of days instead of just 1. We’ll be curious to see how many PGoers decide to play both days with a goal of finding as many shiny and high CP/stat Eevees as they can.
The one negative to the change is that it could throw a monkey wrench into the plans for communities who usually provide food and prizes each month. They’ll now have to adjust their arrangements from a 1 day event to a 2-parter, which means either spending more money or not having the extras at all. Or, the alternative is to designate one of the 2 days as the “official” date for their local community get together.
