Things are really getting exciting regarding the making of the Detective Pikachu movie. Legendary Entertainment and Universal Pictures announced last week that shooting has officially begun.
3 days ago, Londoner, Howard Bud, added to the movie frenzy when he tweeted out pictures of props from the set. (Check out his tweet, here).
Topping off the latest, is a reveal that Bill Nighy (Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest) and Chris Geere (You’re the Worst) will be joining the already confirmed group of cast members; Ken Watanabe, Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Jordan Long, and Ryan Reynolds. {UPDATE: On 2/2, Deadline.com added Suki Waterhouse(Insurgent) to the cast list}.
The live action feature will be distributed (outside of Japan) by Universal Pictures and hit North American theaters next Summer.
The plot of the movie will be based on the 3DS video game, which follows Tim Goodman, a young man who teams up with the brassy Detective Pikachu to search for his missing father.
