Niantic announced last November that they’re working on a Harry Potter version of Pokémon Go. However, they’re not the only ones getting in on the magical mobile gaming scene this year. Jam City, Inc. (in alliance with Portkey Games & Warner Bros.) is also creating their own take of the J.K. Rowling’s series for iOS & Android devices, called Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.
The game is a RPG adventure in which the player is invited to be a student at the Hogwarts School, years prior to when Harry Potter attends. Functions will include learning magical spells, participating in quests, dueling rivals, building friendships, investigating mysteries, and unlocking even more as you progress in your education. You’ll also be allowed to fully customize your main character.
HPHM is being created by a top-notch developer that’s no stranger to mobile games, having created the very popular/ top grossing Cookie Jam and Panda Pop.
If you’re a fan of the Harry Potter movies, you’ll hear some familiar voices when playing the game as Warwick Davis, Sir Michael Gambon, Dame Maggie Smith, Zoe Wanamaker, and more, have reprised their roles, vocally.
The game will release on April 25th. It’ll be free to download, with options to purchase items in-game after it launches.
You can pre-register now through the Hogwarts Mystery website or Google Play/App Store to be notified when the game is ready to download & play.

UPDATE: The official HPHM Instagram account has now posted several short videos showing features and gameplay.
