Niantic announced last November that they’re working on a Harry Potter version of Pokémon Go. However, they’re not the only ones getting in on the magical mobile gaming scene this year. Jam City, Inc. (in alliance with Portkey Games & Warner Bros.) is also creating their own take of the J.K. Rowling’s series for iOS & Android devices, called Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.
The game is a RPG adventure in which the player is invited to be a student at the Hogwarts School, years prior to when Harry Potter attends. Functions will include learning magical spells and using those skills to investigate mysteries, participating in quests, dueling rivals, building friendships, and unlocking even more as you progress in your education. You will also be allowed to fully customize your main character.
HPHM is being created by a top-notch developer that’s no stranger to mobile games, having created the very popular/ top grossing Cookie Jam and Panda Pop.
The game is expected to release sometime this Spring. It’ll be free to download, with options to purchase items in-game after it launches.
You can pre-register now through the Hogwarts Mystery website or Google Play/App Store to be notified when the game is ready to download & play.
