Detective Case & Clown Bot are together again, but this time they’re not trying to solve a single homicide in a hotel, but rather a string of murders happening on an express train traveling from Lisbon to Porto. They’ll need to keep their wits about them as they solve puzzles, gather clues, succeed trials, and attempt to find who’s responsible before the train reaches the final station. Or, at least that’s what they’re supposed to do.
Of course, in reality, the “world’s worst detective” and his robot sidekick, who dreams of being a circus clown & moonlights as a comedian, will “ask annoying questions, pick up everyone’s belongings & call them clues, and drink and eat for free.” But, maybe they’ll solve the mystery nonetheless.
Besides working the case, the twosome will also be responsible for getting policeman Garcia’s son, Billy, to his mom in Porto, in one piece.
Just like the original, the sequel will have a retro look and classic point and click style gameplay reminiscent of the 80’s/90’s.
The music will be a mix of classic orchestra and modern rock and include songs from the first game, Murder in the Hotel Lisbon.
If you haven’t played the original game, don’t worry. The developers assure that The Express Killer can be played as a standalone. However, if you’d like to the play the first title, it is purchasable on Steam. You can also take advantage of a bundle deal which includes both the 1st & 2nd games & their soundtracks.
Detective Case & Clown Bot in: The Express Killer is out now on Steam for $14.99.
