If you’ve been active on social media lately, you may have heard rumor that a Super Mario Cereal was in the works. On Thursday, Nintendo made an official announcement that the rumors are indeed true!
As part of their on-going effort to expand their brand name, Nintendo has partnered with Kellogg’s to produce a cereal inspired by the Super Mario Odyssey game.
As you can see in the picture above, the first thing that stands out is the artwork on the box which features a bright-eyed Mario wearing Cappy and readying his spoon for a big bowl of cereal goodness.
The cereal itself is also Mario inspired, full of “colorful power-up marshmallows and a blast of mixed berry flavor.”
Beyond the nice look and (hopefully) taste, is that the box can be used as an Amiibo in the Super Mario Odyssey game. Simply tap it on your Switch console to receive gold coins or a heart.
The product will hit U.S. store shelves on or around December 11th at a MSRP (per brickseek.com) of $3.14. The box is described as a “limited edition” so if you want to add it to your collection, see what it tastes like, and/or use it with your SMO game, then you’ll probably want to buy it as soon as possible.
