Developer, Eric Barone has announced that the much anticipated multiplayer feature for his farming RPG, Stardew Valley, is available today on the Nintendo Switch eShop for North America, Japan, and Europe. Here’s a quick look at what the new feature brings to the game.
- Play with 1-3 friends
- Achieve common goals as a team
- Farm, mine, fish, forage, and participate in festivals with others
- Enjoy a shared storyline (& pool of money)
- Propose marriage to a fellow player
With the Switch version, players will be able to communicate using the Switch online voice chat or a new chat box feature which contains colored text and 200 SV emojis.
Local play will also be available for those who don’t have an on-line Switch account and want to connect with 2-4 fellow Switch owners who are located nearby.
The multiplayer for Stardew Valley is downloadable now on the Switch eShop. You can read more about it on the game’s official blog site.
A release of the new feature is planned for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the near future.
