Each year Japanese global retailer, UNIQLO holds a competition which requires participants to take a theme and then create a t-shirt design based on that inspiration.
This year the focus of the contest was Pokémon and, as you can guess, this worldwide phenomenon of a series attracted a tremendous and even record breaking response, totaling 18,000 entries from over 40 countries.
Although the competition was fierce, UNIQLO, The Pokémon Company, and Game Freak were able to narrow the field down to 22 designs they felt deserved to be reproduced onto shirts and sold to the general public.
Here’s just a few of the incredible designs they voted as the best of the best.
If you’d like to get your hands on one or more of these unique wearables, you can do so starting June 28th, when the shirts become available in stores and on the UNIQLO website.
The men’s and women’s shirts will retail for $14.90. Kids tops will sale for $9.90.
Quantities are usually limited so if you see something you really want, be ready to purchase it soon after it goes on sale.
